You know that small seed that I am talking about right? That seed that lives in the back of our heads as homeschool Moma’s? The seed that likes to ask the questions, are we doing enough? Do they know what they need to know? Did I pick the right curriculum?
Mine always is telling or asking? Let them be kids as long as possible, teach them manners, are they an annoyance to others or is it all in my head?
This is a seed that is always there. Never leaves! The problem becomes when we listen.
I fall hard into listening to the seed this time of the year. The time when I am preparing new lessons and looking over all the new year as to offer.
This little seed of self doubt creeps in so quietly and soon it’s all I hear.
God has been good though in surrounding me with great moms all talking about the same thing.GRACE! They themselves were asking for it, reminding me to also allow myself some grace.
We read in Ephesians 4:7, But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.
It’s a gift given to us that we need to accept. I find it so funny that we as moms can be so good and give grace to other moms when needed. But, when it comes to ourselves we are not so quick to give or receive.
Why is that?
I know for me it’s times when I have spent to much time listening to that seed of self doubt in the the back of my head. Not been in the word of God, spending too much time on social media.
I have these preconceived notions at times that this seed tells me; I need to be doing more and it's really the Devil sneaking in making us feel not enough.
This year I challenge you as we start our homeschool year, I am also challenging myself to find a place where you are receiving God's grace and know you are enough!
But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift - Ephesians 4:7
